Worry

Worry

Hello Church Family—I hope you are looking forward to spending some meaningful time with your family and friends this Thanksgiving weekend. It would be great to make our church gathering a part of your celebrations, either in person, or online. This weekend we are going to take a look at the idea of No More Worry.

While I may not always look like it these days, I have spent a significant portion of my life as a professional worrier! I lived in a continual cycle of worry about tomorrow, trying to make it through the day just so I could go home and worry about the next day. This was not a great way to live.

Jesus offers his followers a different way—to live without the constant worry of tomorrow, and to trust that in today we will have enough. The reminder that we have a faithful Heavenly Father who loves to care for us.

I think any weekend of the year is good for a message on worry, however, I can’t help but feel like the timing for this is important as we face our current reality.

I hope you can join us this Sunday!

See you soon,

Jeremy Cook
Senior Associate Pastor

The last two years have been tough on our kids and teens, as well as their families. On October 27, we will be hosting a parent discussion with Dr. Shawn Reynolds, a psychologist in our congregation who is also the father of two teenagers.

The discussion will include strategies related to anxiety and building resiliency, along with general family self-care strategies as we manage stress at this stage of the pandemic. Register here.
