Happy Friday Church Family!I’m really looking forward to opening up God’s word together with you this weekend. I’d love to have you read it beforehand – as this is a large section of scripture that we will be moving through, and I won't be able to cover it all – So, if you wouldn’t mind – Read Matthew 5:17-48.This is Jesus’ famous section on the Law – the “you’ve heard it said, but I tell you”… section. Here, Jesus goes to the root cause of much of the brokenness in the world – Namely, the heart. He helps the disciples understand that far before a murder takes place – anger takes hold; before adultery happens – permission is given to lust. He will also, in this section, tackle the seemingly impossibility of grace, and the extending of love and compassion towards those who insult, sue, and hurt us.It is a profound call, one that seems impossible, as Jesus calls for perfection in us, as it is with his Father. (Mt. 5:48)So what do we do with all this? Well, join us this weekend to find out.-BrodyWe Care Food DriveSaturday, October 21st is the last day for our We Care Food Drive.
