Master Class: Jesus Teaches the Parables

6/29/2020 - 8/30/2020

Our summer 2020 teaching series ‘Masterclass’ is a fresh take on the old…the Parables of Jesus.

Jesus Christ is sometimes called ‘The Master Teacher,’ and the best evidence is His story telling. Through parables Jesus paints visual portraits, creates new visions, and generally overturns conventional thinking. He doesn’t use parables to explain things to his listeners satisfaction but to call attention to the un-satisfactoriness of all their previous explanations and understandings. Jesus tells stories which leave people thinking, uncomfortable, moved, motivated – or in some other way invested.

Students of the Bible have pondered the stories of Jesus for thousands of years, offering fresh interpretations along the way. That’s why we love them – they keep giving and giving because they’re open-ended and ambiguous, inviting us to ponder them and bring their wisdom into our circumstances.
