Greetings Church Family! If you know me at all, you know I am of the excitable type. So I can forgive your skepticism for about what I am about to say…This weekend is going to be an incredible one for our church family!Don’t believe me?Here are 3 reasons why.We are going to conclude our series on Jonah. A final look at the pretentious prophet and how the unexpected final chapters of his story play out. I’ve loved hearing about how Jonah’s story has intersected with yours. We’re going to hear from our lead pastor about an opportunity for us as a church to make an investment in our future. The world continues to shift rapidly and we are going to talk about one of the ways we’re retooling to engage those around us.Best of all, this weekend is also baptism services! We will celebrate together God’s continued care and provision as stories of transformed lives are shared. And if you haven’t taken that step of baptism yet, who knows how you might be prompted to participate…So yes, I’m pumped for this weekend. I hope you have a chance to join us for one of our services, either in person or online.See you soon,Jeremy CookSenior Associate Pastor When we re-orient our lives around living and loving like Jesus, we are made new. Baptism is a celebration of this commitment and a time to share how God is transforming us. Baptism is this picture of how the gospel changes lives. It’s a remembering of that moment or season where you said ‘yes’ to God – His love, His forgiveness, His purpose for your life.Baptism weekend will be February 26th and 27th. There is no manual for raising kids, but God has given us something far better—the Holy Spirit and community. Child Dedication is a way to acknowledge our dependence on the Holy Spirit as we do our best to be an example, and lead our children in a relationship with Jesus.Register at spac.ca/childdedication before March 6th to have your child dedicated during one of our March 26th or 27th services. A Journey Through Lent Family KitEvery year we make a big deal about Christmas as we think about the birth of Jesus, and we should! However, at times we fail to see that the cornerstone of our faith is Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This year let’s join as families in the tradition of Lent in order to help our kids understand Jesus’ love for them through the death burial and resurrection of Jesus. We will provide a short daily reading on a path as you follow Jesus to Easter. This will give you an opportunity as a family to think about Jesus and His love for you through this season. Each kit will include your daily reading cards and a Jesus print out for your family to cut out and string to hang it all up in home as you journey through this Lent season.
