Hey Church Family!I'm so excited to get to spend thanksgiving with each one of you this weekend! Having just finished up our series on parenting and getting ready for a long stretch through the book of James coming next weekend, we decided to save this weekend as a true thanksgiving weekend. And so, I will be teaching around the theme of thankfulness. I'm not sure where each of you are coming from. But for many, a heart of thankfulness and gratitude don't come easily. There are so many ways we can become distracted from seeing all that we do have, and instead shift our focus to what we wish we had - the perfect family, the big acreage, the toys that the neighbour keeps in his garage etc. This weekend, we are going to trek through 3 stories in the Old Testament, where God instructed the Israelites to build a physical reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness. A physical act that would provide for them a visual reminder that God is good and that they have so much to be thankful for. And my hope and prayer is that we all leave with some tangible ways that we too can be reminded of, and remind each other of, God's kindness.Looking forward to spending thanksgiving with you,Brody Jespersen | Senior Associate PastorWe Care Food DriveAs the Thanksgiving season is upon us, one way to engage in giving is by participating in our WeCare Food Drive. This weekend, in the atrium, we will be collecting items for our We Care Ministry. We have a team that meets each Sunday in a parking lot downtown and provides bagged lunches and donated clothes to people who are in need or may be experiencing homelessness. The love and word of Jesus are shared. We are looking for non perishable food items - please see here for more information. Seniors ConnectTuesday, October 11 at 1 pm is our next Seniors Connect.
