ANNOUNCEMENTS

EVENTS

Millbourne Prayer

Explore how God is calling Sherwood park Alliance to grow His ministry in the Millbourne Community. The morning of Saturday, October 2, will include a prayer walk around Millbourne. We will be praying for the people of the Millbourne community and asking God to prepare the minds and hearts of ourselves, as well as those with whom we will meet, as we begin the community engagement work. Register to attend at spac.ca/millbourne.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Bring your non-perishable food items to the atrium on Thanksgiving weekend, October 9 and 10. We'll be collecting food for those in need.

This year we're giving all food items collected to our WeCare ministry.

Alpha

Alpha is a safe place to discuss, question, and find community. It's open to everyone, from those who are looking for life answers to those who are new in the faith.

Starting Tuesday, October 12 for 10 weeks, Sherwood Park Alliance will be hosting Alpha. Register at spac.ca/groupfinder.

Clothing Exchange

This year there will be two Clothing Exchanges held one being held here at Sherwood Park Alliance on October 23 and one at Millbourne Community Life Centre on October 30. For all the details or to register to volunteer please visit spac.ca/clothingexchange.

Faith at Home

The last two years have been tough on our kids and teens, as well as their families. On October 27, we will be hosting a parent discussion with Dr. Shawn Reynolds, a psychologist in our congregation who is also the father of two teenagers.

The discussion will include strategies related to anxiety and building resiliency, along with general family self-care strategies as we manage stress at this stage of the pandemic. Register here.

Serving

As we look towards building new teams for the fall there are many opportunities to get involved. Go to spac.ca/serve to learn more.

We believe that actively serving others brings us closer to God and reminds us to love like he does. Through serving, you'll use the unique ways that God has gifted you to help create welcoming environments where he can change lives.

FAMILY NEWS

On behalf of Ken Kerr’s family, we wish to express our deep appreciation for the kindness shown to us in the recent passing of Lillian Kerr. The many cards, thoughts, prayers, phone calls, and gifts of food have been a source of comfort, support, and evidence of God’s love and grace to us. May God’s blessings be poured out to you as you have blessed us in these many ways. In His love, the Kerr families.
