Twice a year SPAC hosts the Clothing Exchange event where members of the church and surrounding community have an opportunity to receive new clothing and drop off gently used items. This event is not limited to clothing, but also includes household wares, shoes, accessories and books. This event has been a long-standing tradition for over 30 years and continues to draw large numbers of people from our community into our church building.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
SPAC hosts a yearly food drive for non-perishable food items during Thanksgiving weekend with the plan to pass on all donated food to groups and individuals who are in need.
TheWayGaming is a local gaming group that started at SPAC and continues to put on events in the Sherwood Park area as a way of building relationships with our community. Each tournament event features fun competition, free food and great prizes.
Every year as a church family, we come together and take a special offering during the Christmas Eve services to go towards a outreach and/or compassion initiative with one of our International Workers or Local Partners.
A core focus of the C&MA is its centrality on missions and proclaiming the gospel. This event serves to highlight and focus on how God is at work around the world and around our province as well as educate and connect our church congregation with our local and global partners.
Each celebration incorporates elements of Worship, International Partner updates, Local Partner updates, prayer, stories, activities and opportunities for people to get more involved in the missions life of SPAC. These events also serve as a platform for commissioning new workers/teams/partners and for doing Short Term Mission Team reports to the congregation.
