Psalm 23

Psalm 23

Happy Canada Day weekend!

Among my many blessings I consider it a massive privilege to be a citizen of Canada. Prior to 2013 I couldn’t say that, as Canada was not my country of birth, but I’m thankful for a path to citizenship that now allows me to proudly call this nation home. But hold the gravy on the fries, please!

Despite summer being upon us, things aren’t slowing down in our ministry environments. This weekend’s gatherings (7 pm Saturday & 10 am Sunday) are going to feature a guest artist and communicator, Toronto’s Jason Hildebrand. Jason and his team at Jason Hildebrand Creative Arts have created a series of short films designed to bring selections from the book of Psalms to life. I’m looking forward to interviewing Jason and hearing his vision for elevating the scriptures and impacting the artistic community with the message of Jesus. Jason is going to unpack one of the most beloved Psalms, # 23.

Finally, all next week we’re hosting in the neighbourhood of a thousand guests from across Canada and international workers from around the globe for The Alliance Canada General Assembly. This is the first such gathering since the COVID era began, and there’s a hunger within the wider Alliance family to be together to worship, lament, praise, and plan. Please pray for an uplifting and inspired week as we do our collective best to align ourselves with God’s intent. And it’s not too late to join the hospitality teams being amassed to host this gathering! More info on serving next week can be found here.

God bless and keep you,

Greg Hochhalter | Lead Pastor

Monumental VBS

Parents: Send your kids on a desert adventure! At Monumental VBS, kids celebrate God's greatness! Monumental is filled with awesome Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, and touch! Sciency-Fun Gizmos™, team-building games, unforgettable Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and sturdy shoes.) Plus, we'll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life - something we call God Sightings®.

Get ready to hear that phrase a lot! Your kids will also participate in a hands-on mission project, through a program called Operation Kid-to-Kid™, that will provide school supplies for kids living on reservations. Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us at Canyon Closing each day at 11:30 am, a daily celebration of God's greatness and love! So mark these dates on your calendar: August 22-26, 2022. The fun starts at 9:00 am and will end at noon. Click here to register your children for this life-changing adventure!

Online Ministry Enhancement

The public weekend gathering is no longer the front door - the digital presence and online experience of church is overwhelmingly our first point of connection with the spiritually curious, and an essential method for initiating and fostering discipling relationships within our congregation. Streaming online is more than a broadcast - it's a platform with which to nurture meaningful connections with online viewers.

The hybrid church is the new normal.

To help support this new normal, we are launching an Online Ministry Enhancement campaign. For more information please see spac.ca/online.
