We Care Christmas Bag

Sign up online to fill a bag for someone in need this Christmas! This project is done in partnership with our We Care ministry.

Bags will be available for pick up from the church office during business hours Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm between November 27- December 11. If you forget to sign up online before coming to the church to pick up your bag, that's ok! We can get you signed up upon arrival and quickly have you on your way to filling your bag with items for someone in need this Christmas.

Please have all bags returned to the church on or by Friday, December 11.

Fill your bag or backpack with items such as: long johns, hats, mittens, scarves, socks, toiletries, facecloths, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, and non-perishable snacks. Please consider wrapping AT LEAST one item in the tote bag, as it is a nice surprise and makes the bag feel extra special for someone who receives it.

Online Blue Christmas Prayer Service

Christmas isn’t the most wonderful time of the year for everyone. In fact, for those in pain because of the loss of a loved one, or other significant loss, this season can intensify the pain.

On Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7 pm we will be offering an online Blue Christmas prayer service. Our prayer is that this will provide an opportunity to address the sadness, the pain of loss, and even the anger that can accompany the season.

This service will include Scripture, music and prayers. We’ll be asking God to bring His comforting presence to our grief and loss and remembering that God is with us in our pain. Registration for this evening of comfort and hope is required.

International Workers Christmas Gift

During this season, remember the work that is being done by our International Workers. Share love and encourage our International Workers.

You can participate this year in the following ways:

Pick up a card at one of our weekend services from the table in the South Atrium and write a note of encouragement and/or make a donation.

Write a note of encouragement on a card of your own choosing and then drop it off or mail it to the church (Attention: Rebecca Trask). Please write separate cards for each International Worker that you want to send a note to, but you can mail them all together if that makes it easier! Donations can also be dropped off or mailed in with your cards if you choose to make a financial gift too.

Go sign our online cards for each of our International Workers.

When making a donation towards this project, please use the Sherwood Park Alliance Church offering envelopes to give your financial gift designating it to the Sherwood Park Alliance Church International Workers Christmas Project. If you are mailing or dropping off a cheque, please put this in the memo line. Alternatively, you can go online to make a donation. This gift is to be shared equally between our International Workers. Because this is a gift, tax receipts cannot be given.
